The route, step by step

This is how the day unfolds, hour by hour, with everything you'll do and where.

  1. DAY 1

    Cusco – Maras – Moray – Salt Pans – Cusco

    We pick you up from your hotels and take a journey of almost an hour to our base in Cruzpata. After a brief explanation of how to use the ATVs, we start with a 10-minute practice session and then begin our circuit: we will ride for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, all off-road, where you can get a glimpse of the daily life of the people who live there and admire the typical house facades. We pass through spectacular places where few people go and where nature shows its greatest splendor to impress us at every moment. Along the route we will also observe local agriculture up close and have the option to visit the archaeological site of Moray, known as the Inca agricultural experimentation center, and the Maras salt pans, with their surprising salt pools that reveal ancient secrets. We also admire stunning mountain landscapes before returning to Cusco.

Do I need ATV riding experience?

No: there is a 10-minute practice session with guide instructions at the start. The ATVs are automatic (250cc) and the circuit is done at group pace.

How demanding is the tour?

It is easy difficulty: there is no walking, only riding. The circuit lasts between 2 and 3 hours along country roads and off-road trails.

What is the best time to do it?

It can be done all year round. In the rainy season (November–March) the rain poncho is included and the roads can be muddy.

What altitude are we at?

The circuit runs between 3,300 and 3,800 m. It is recommended to have slept at least one night in Cusco before riding.

What does the price include?

It includes transport, personal ATV, complete safety equipment, bilingual mechanic guide and first-aid kit. It does not include food or the Maras entrance (S/ 15 for foreigners).
