The route, step by step

Each of the 2 days combines route, history and rest. This is the complete program, step by step.

  1. DAY 1

    Lima – Ica – Huacachina

    Morning departure from Lima to Ica (approx. 4 hours). On arrival we tour the city: the Cathedral, the Regional Museum and the famous "Weaver of Pisco" tree. We continue to the wineries to taste the region's famous wines and pisco (optional). In the afternoon we arrive at the Huacachina oasis, an emerald lagoon surrounded by palm trees and huge golden dunes: at sunset, we board the dune buggies for an exciting adventure over the dunes and practice sandboarding with our guide's instruction. Night in Ica or Huacachina.

  2. DAY 2

    Huacachina – Lima

    Free morning to stroll around the Huacachina lagoon, climb the dune viewpoints or enjoy the oasis terraces. After lunch (optional), we return to Lima in the afternoon, arriving around 18:00. End of our services.

How demanding is the tour?

It is easy difficulty: you travel by bus and the buggies do the work. Sandboarding is suitable for beginners, with an instructor included.

What is the best time to do it?

It can be done all year round. The Ica desert is dry and sunny; the best hours for the buggies are the morning and sunset.

Is the buggy ride safe?

Yes: the drivers are professionals, the buggies have harnesses and they drive at moderate speed. The helmet and sandboard are included.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, sunglasses, a cap, light clothing and closed shoes for the dunes. It can get cool on winter nights.

What does the price include?

It includes tourist transfer, dune buggy ticket, sandboarding instructor and 1 hotel night. It does not include meals or the winery visit (optional).
