DAY 1
Puno – Sillustani – Puno
At 08:30 am we begin the transfer to Sillustani (approx. 45 minutes), one of the most impressive archaeological complexes in southern Peru, located on a peninsula of Lake Umayo. We tour the site with the guide: the impressive circular chullpas, some over 12 meters tall, the architectural differences between Kolla and Inca constructions and the Andean beliefs about death, while enjoying panoramic views of the lake and the highlands. After lunch we visit a local highland community to learn about their Andean customs. Return to Puno around 16:00.

They are stone funerary towers up to 12 meters tall built by the Kolla and Inca cultures as tombs for their authorities and noble families.
How demanding is the tour?
It is easy difficulty: you walk on gentle trails inside the complex, at a relaxed pace. The altitude is about 3,900 m.
What is the best time to do it?
It can be done all year round. The dry season (April–November) is the most recommended; in the rainy season the skies are more dramatic.
How do I prepare for the altitude?
Puno is at 3,812 m and Sillustani at 3,900 m. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and walk slowly.
What does the price include?
It includes round-trip transportation from Puno, bilingual guide, entrance to the complex and panoramic stops. It does not include lunch or tips.
