The route, step by step
Each of the 2 days combines route, history and rest. This is the complete program, step by step.

DAY 1
Puno – Uros – Amantaní
We first visit the Uros islands, taking a comfortable boat from the port of Puno (30 minutes). After visiting 2 floating islands we continue the journey to Amantaní Island (2.5 hours), arriving around midday, where we are cordially received by the local families. Accompanied by the families, we take a 30-minute uphill walk to the local homes of Amantaní Island, where we have a typical Andean lunch. After settling in and resting, we hike to the top of the island to visit the Inca ceremonial temples of Pachamama and Pachatata. After enjoying the beautiful lake views, we wait for sunset to contemplate one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world! Finally we return to dine in the local homes and enjoy the peña show during the night.

DAY 2
Amantaní – Taquile – Puno
We start the day with a typical breakfast and then descend to the port of Amantaní (8:00 am). We take our boat to Taquile Island and walk uphill to the main square, from where we can observe the island and learn more about its customs and textiles. After lunch we descend to the port (01:00 pm) to return to Puno, arriving around 04:00 pm.

You stay in a local family home, in simple but cozy rooms with shared bathrooms. It is a cultural immersion experience: the family shares their customs and food.
How demanding is the tour?
It is easy difficulty: you sail by boat and walk at a relaxed pace. On Amantaní there is a 30-minute uphill walk and a similar one on Taquile.
What is the best time to do it?
It can be done all year round. The dry season (April–November) is the most recommended for Lake Titicaca.
How do I prepare for the altitude?
Puno is at 3,812 m. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and walk slowly; spending the first night in Puno before the tour helps with acclimatization.
What does the price include?
It includes transportation, motor boat, bilingual guide, entrance tickets, 1 night in a family home on Amantaní with lunch, dinner and breakfast, and the peña show. It does not include tips.
