The route, step by step
This is how the day unfolds, hour by hour, with everything you'll do and where.

DAY 1
Arequipa – Cruz del Cóndor – Arequipa
At 03:00–03:30 am we pick you up from your hotel and depart to the Colca Valley (approx. 3.5 hours of travel). We cross the Patapampa Pass, the Viewpoint of the Andes at 4,710 m, and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where it is common to see vicuñas. We arrive in Chivay around 06:30 for the Andean breakfast and continue to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, where we observe the majestic flight of the condors and the impressive depth of the canyon. On the way back we visit the towns of Yanque, Maca and Achoma with their colonial churches and terraces, and have lunch (optional) in Chivay. Return to Arequipa in the afternoon, arriving around 18:00.

The trip to the Colca takes about 3.5 hours and condors are most active in the early morning, when the canyon thermal currents lift them.
How demanding is the tour?
It is easy difficulty: you travel by bus all the time, with short walks. The highest point is Patapampa at 4,710 m, crossed by vehicle.
How long is the full day?
About 15 hours: departure between 03:00 and 03:30 am and arrival in Arequipa around 18:00.
What is the best time to do it?
It can be done all year round. The dry season (April–November) is the best for seeing the condors.
What does the price include?
It includes transportation, bilingual guide and Andean breakfast. It does not include the Colca tourist ticket (paid on site) or lunch.
