DAY 1
Añashuayco Quarry and Culebrillas
At 09:00 am we pick you up from your hotel and start the tour to the Añashuayco quarry, arriving in about 45 minutes. At the quarry, currently in operation, we watch the stonecutters at work while we tell the story of sillar, its making and the use it has been given since ancient times; here you can also see a carving of the Jesuit Church made by the stonecutters themselves. Then we head to the Culebrillas gorge, 30 minutes away, where we take a 20-minute walk inside the small canyon formed by the passage of water, at the end of which we see petroglyphs made by the Wari culture.
